87 gt 4 catalytic converters?? remove them plus i want a exhuast help

i looked under my car 87 gt all stock seems like theres 4 cats ??? would i also want a exhuast should i take all the cats off and put str8 pipes with flows? or leave cats on and weld flowmasters on them 40s or 44s

This is a question you should ask your self. Should you remove the cats?

Do you have emissions testing? If not, then take them off, if so then dont touch them and weld on new mufflers or buy a new catback. Simple.

i dont have emissions but i was wondering if i should take the cats off if ill lose back pressuer or something like that what would be a good set up flows 40s or 44s with cats or no cats with just pipes and flows 40 44s?

I prefer to keep the cats. Keeps the torque down lower in the RPM range and doesn't make the car stink like raw fuel and be obnoxiously loud

Like mustang5L5 said, I would do a catback with cats. No straight pipes, get a H-pipe or X-pipe, mufflers up to you. I run long tubes, off road H-pipe (no cats) and OLD 3-chamber flowmasters. Mine is a little too loud now that I'm getting older and I'm a home owner with permanent neighbors! If I were still renting, FU*k the neighbors! A guy I worked with bought a GT w/ straight pipes and it was very raspy, almost obnoxious

go with an off road x-pipe and whatever muffler you think sounds best.
