I recently purchased a complete harness and computer off of a 88 cali car. Everything looks good except the mass air plug. It is square instead of oval like on 89 and newer stangs. It does have the 4 wires coming out of the plug and they are the same color as my dads 93, but will not plug into the meter I have. Is there a different meter for the 88 CA cars??? Also anyone have pics of there meter plug off of an 88 mass air car???

A trip to the junkyard will get you an oval mass air meter connector shell. The red insert inside the front of the connector lifts up & pulls out. Then you can use a jeweler's screwdriver to press down the connector pins and slide them out the rear of the connector shell. Then re-assemble them in the oval shell from the junkyard & you are in business.

OK , today I called about getting a meter from a few of the local junlyards and the ID # on the meter, well obviously I don't have the meter, thats why I need one. And one guy said it does mater because it wont run right with the wrong meter.

So what meter do I need with this CALI car harness?????

It's mentioned up above. You just need the connector plug, not a whole different meter. You are going to take the wires out of your connector and put them in the oval connector. It will look original and work perfect.

Any of the 89-93 5.0 MAF's will work fine.

I'm using a 94-95 Mustang GT MAF - $40-$100. It is 70 MM instead of the stock 55 MM on regular stangs built prior to 94. It uses a slip on duct on the side that goes to the throttle body and a 4 bolt flange on the other. You need a $25-$35 flange adapter from Pro-M to fit the stock slip on air ducting that goes to the air box. Wiring plugs right in with no changes. *1
*1.) Pro-M has revised their website lately, but here's what I found for the MAF adapter flange.

http://performancepartsmall.com/detail.asp?id=224 - plastic adapter

http://performancepartsmall.com/detail.asp?id=223 - metal adapter

I got a metal one from Powered by Ford for $35 and tax. That was over a year ago.
