Today I replaced the trac loc and the pinion seal.. however, the shims I took out were .062 and the ones that were supplied were .030,.035, and .040.. I tried .040 first and I couldn't get the S spring back in so I went with the. 035. Besides that, everything was a breeze and I have a beer in my stinky, stinky hands lol! Have a great memorial day guys.

So we're did you order your t k x from?
What bell did you get?
Did you buy a new crossmember or modify the t5 one?
I purchased my TKX from Summit... My car came with a 4 speed SROD so the bell fit the TKX.....
I used the Stifflers crossmember.. My stock crossmember was for a single exhaust.. ( 83).....

I got the trans from American muscle because it was free shipping, I already had an explosion proof bellhousing (lakewood I think) and I have the stock crossmember but I'm going to buy the stifflers tubular member because I'm missing the bushings and hardware anyway.

Thanks for the info guys, I'll probably modify my xmember , I'm on the fence as weather to get a cast bell or steel bell($500 ) difference.
Also wondering if a can get a 31 spline yoke from the pic a part( what year stang came with them?)

Don't you think those bellhousings look alike except dirty/clean?
They all look alike from that angle lol.. I have a few of those in the garage I need to move out of my way.. But ya some still don't know its the same machine work the tremec bells get vs the t5.. There all the same casting.

My bellhousing came with the car, but he used it because the track required an SFI bellhousing. And my axles are from an SN95

It's a good day for an update. I got alot done since my last post (even tho it doesn't look that way). My TKX is in. I had to use a 1/2" reamer to open up the 4 holes to the bellhousing. I found out that I have a mcloud and they take 1/2" bolts. Driveshaft mounted but I want to change the u joints. I have an alternator now(need to order a 2g cable still), which let me figure out a belt. Rad and fan are in. I flushed the nasty old brake fluid. Now I have the gas tank out, pressure washed, and waiting for my 255 walbro and all the rest of the parts to freshen that area up. Next on the list is the cobra style coolant crossover pipe, all new hoses, and fill with water to pressure test.

Another happy day of progress. We've now got a set of Cobra brakes thanks to you guys helping me in another thread. I could've got the car running for the same money but I'm really excited about it. Excuse the mess.
