Progress Thread 88 Gt T-top- Project problem child

Friday morning she’ll be home. You’ll know as soon as she’s here.

Only update is I finally found a set of mirrors from a local part out.

Ok. Few pics of pick up and drop off. I wanna get her real clean before I start posting money shots. The joy of black paint is everything leaves a mark. The body shop said once it’s all back together I can swing by and they’ll buff it back out to a shine for me.

As far as progress goes. I got the felt strip, t top trim, and a pillar trim installed. This is a huge pain to do. Getting the felt on is a chore. I’ll likely redo it later.

Got the third brake light installed and working. Finished out the night with the pony install.

Rear window trim is in.
Both door handles ( this is a heart attack job with fresh paint and pop rivets)
And the new locks.

I got an air riveter and it still is a job to tighten one’s sphincter muscles, lol.

I always put a couple layers of tape on the panel anywhere near the handle first, just in case of that nasty slip.

No pics today. But I spent the week chasing electrical gremlins. Short version, the drivers side door harness had a short between the door locks and the power locks. Spent most of the week finding it. Fixed the locks yesterday and discovered the mirror issue after, just fixed the mirrors. But it all works now and I can move on.

YeH, things got kinda crazy here. Not sure I ever said this but I went back to school in January, so that’s been eating a ton of my time and getting the baby’s room ready and all the normal stuff just got crazy.

I wanna take a quick second to talk about how great of a company LMR is.

Back in November I ordered my headlights but with all the roadblocks I didn’t install them till this weekend. One had a crack, and with just a couple emails , they fixed the issue. They are absolutely top notch.

Not sure the brand on mine. I had originally picked up a saleen wing but after I got it I decided it wasn’t for me, so I swapped for one locally. It’s decent but not perfect .

I’m nearing the end of the road.

Headlights are in. Fogs will be in this week. Almost done with the headliner.

Things left

Finish passenger side headliner

Install door panels

Install radio

Install small parts like seatbelt bezels and what not.

Oil change

Gas

Plates and insurance

Then I’ll be back at a driving car and doing mods and cleaning as I go.
