88 speed dens. what will we need to do to put 460 1.7 rockers on.

I work with a guy who is thinking about getting some 1.7 rockers on his 88 speed density mustang, can it be done and will he have to change his valve springs. The reason he is wanting to do this is because it will be cheaper than doing a cam swap. Also how much lift will this give him.

Whats the 460 for? The 1.7s will fit fine on his 88, and will increase his lift from approximately .444 to .471

I was told 460's come with 1.7 rockers, and the junk yard we go to is very cheap on pricing, so I figure we can get some off of a 460, for about $5.00

If it was true i think everyone on this forum would be at the boneyard robbing 460 roller rockers every weekend.

I beleive the ratio wll be stamped on them if you do go.

Are 460 rockers pedistal mount? They probably aren't roller, so there would be very minimal gaines. The stock heads realy dont flow much past the stock cam lift.

Some are pedistal, some aren't, depending on year, they actually came with 1.73:1 rockers. no they are not rollers, flat hydraulic lifters unless its a late model motor which = crap.
