89 5.0 smog junk

HI guys! Oooops and girls! I have a 89 5.0 m/t quest. how can i eliminate the smog pump and air line with out make the ecm go nuts? Thanks DW

use a dead pulley or just get a shorter belt period.............ecm doesnt car about the smog pump.......then just TIG weld the tube on the h-pipe closed.

is it worth paying like $60.00 dollars for the smog pump removal kit?

i think so they look like @$$ and i have seen them for less than 60.

So, if i get the pully conversion and eliminate the smog pump altogether it wont make the ECM throw codes or the check engine light to come on? Thanks DW

just get a shorter belt. cleaner engine bay, less crap on there and it wont make the check engine light come on.

i have everything disconnected from mine but its still on there. i have no check engine lights, only thing it does is show a couple codes when i run them.
