These are some more data scans. I also have a video but I can't load it here. I guess I can put it on YouTube and link it.

So i pulled out the shift cable and soldered that tube with silver bearing solder. Reinstalled and ran through the positions several times and it's holding. I just don't know how that got broken.
But then, i don't think the previous owner or who ever was working on it knew what they were doing. There was so much stuff broken.

In my 69 years of life I have seen people do things to cars that shakes up the imagination..... Lots of real dumb people out there... And they vote.....
Dated a woman years ago that had an 81 trans am Pace car..... It had been left outside and needed some love.... Worst part is when I looked under it her EX husband had converted one side of the rear disc brakes to drum.... Yep, one side was drum and one side was disc.......

Sorry it's been a while. I've been waiting for money. Anyway i ordered brake hardware and cylinders for both sides. Drums cleaned up and turned. So while it was on the ground i did put it in gear and pulled forward a bit. That's how i found the shift cable was broken because i couldn't put it in reverse or park.
I don't think the brake parts will be here before Wednesday. I have been doing whatever i can with no money.
Cleaning stuff and getting everything buttoned up. I'm going to have to get a new wiper motor and a multi function switch.
I can't get the fuel door to latch, the exhaust past the h pipe is still off. And the radiator leaks. I'm going to get as much done as i can this week. It's a lot easier to work now that the temperature has dropped here in East Texas.

More projects to do than money?
Projects are similar to personal relationships.
Both always need more of something.

Yep, half my paycheck goes to rent and living expenses.
Despite my trying to repair or recondition things, sometimes you just have to buy new parts. I just ordered a wiper motor, wiper switch and a drivers window motor.
I usually can fix motors but this one was too far gone. If i had some donor motors maybe but new motors are cheap enough.
Doors new run channels but that can wait.

I know Texas is a big place ,but my ole’ internet buddy @MustangIIMatt is a Texas resident that used to have a hoard of Ford/Mustang parts- maybe he will pop in if he still got the stash lol

Even if he doesn’t-I’m sure he will enjoy actually seeing work done by a tech that knows the diagnostics and stuff

I sold almost everything with ElSuperPinto. I think I have a few sets of valvecovers, E7 heads, and a few other pieces of mostly useless junk left.

Yesterday i rebuilt the rear brakes and got her back on the ground.
Cranked it up, put it in reverse and rolled back hitting the brakes a couple times.
Then put it in drive and creeped out the door. I drove around the lot and back in to my building. I goosed the throttle and it spun tires in the gravel. Then i drove back in. Successful first drive. She feels good.
Just need to button up a few things before i can get it inspected. The radiator leaks so i need to order another one. It also needs new headlights before i drive at night, those things are nasty.
Need more money.
Anyway i cleaned all the glass and wiped all the dust off. As bad as she looks i bet with a bath she'll look better.

If you wait till January you won't need an inspection in Texas anymore.

Passenger side skirts or fine except behind the door. The drivers side is off but not damaged.

Ok well my multi function switch and drivers window motor came in today .
I'm at work tonight and working tomorrow night. Monday I'll get those put in.
The windows both go up and down but are real sloppy. Both doors need run channels.
That can wait since the windows will be down for now. The wiper switch was jicky and the motor was sluggish.
I'm pretty sure the intermittent module works. The input and output tests ok.
I was trying to get the hood straightened and noticed how wobbly it was next thing i know the passenger hinge broke. Followed by the drivers. Right in the curve they were rusted in two. So hoods off right now.
Best price i found on eBay was $50 for used ones.
Well those plus a radiator. It's hard to pressure test the cooling system when the radiator leaks. It does have a hard start issue that feels like a fuel issue.
My fuel pressure gauge took a crap last year and i haven't gotten a new one .
Once started it idles around 900 and creeps down to 750 when it goes closed loop. That's like perfect. This is at an ambient temperature of above 80 f.
These 94 computers go closed loop way faster than the older ones did.
She goes in and out of gear without a stutter, dip or hunt. Revs up nice and crisp.
Goose the throttle under load with no hesitation. She feels like she's got power. Really more driving is what it needs.
I have probably four hours run time since the first start. That oil with Marvel in it has picked up lots of dirt and the oil is getting dark. I noticed yesterday that one lifter started ticking.
I'll put some seafoam in and run it for a while then drain the oil hot. Go back in with some Lucas.
Once the radiator is in and the exhaust is back on, I'll drive it the two miles to the gas station and fill her up.
Also a half can of seafoam.
If i can get by without a trooper being around I'll run it up and down the road a bit.
Really she's so ready for a sticker and plates.

Update, I changed the thread name to 89 GT Lives.
I was working on it today. new multifunction switch is bad out of the box. Wipers work though. even intermittent.
I got the stock crank and water pump pulleys on it now so I have a set of under drive pulleys available.
I got the drivers window motor installed so thats all for the interior. I'm still in need of a console.
Well she's almost ready for a sticker. just need to warranty the turn signal switch and get the mufflers and tailpipes back on.
