I'd add a new ford racing water pump (like $50 or so).
And a Mr. gaskets 180 degree thermostat.

The stock computer on a mustang can handle anything you can throw at it, as long as you use a calibrated meter and the matching injectors.

Stock mass air computer should be fine. But, they always can benefit from a proper chip tune. Why are you going with this kit? Properly chosen pieces can net more pwr.

What sorta numbers is yours putting down? I just feel this kit would be lacking without some port work compared to other h/c/i's. And, the intake is known to have some oil consumption problems, probably because its made in china now, the old ones are good.

extra

Id always planned to do the water pump also. I settled on the FR as well.

But Ive read that Performance thermostats and EFI dont go together well so I was going to see how it went first with stock thermostat.

Basicly I like this kit because its $1k cheaper than trick flow, edelbrock. And I also like the idea of keeping Ford emblems under the hood.

Also, I like to keep things simple, no wacky algebra or particle physics to figure out if this head will work with that cam, just give me a kit thats all ready matched.
To some this may seem dumb but Im willing to sacrifice a few horsepower to not have to depend on my math skills.

Ive already got a high volume fuel pump, FR starter and subframe connectors installed.

Summit sells the trickflow kit for around 2500 bucks. Your buying gt40x heads, cobra intake, rockers, valve covers, timing chain, gaskets, bolts, cam etc for 1500 bucks? lmk where this is, awesome deal.

You dont need to know algebra or particle physics to figure out a solid h/c/i. xxxxxx head flows 250 on the intake, xxxxxx intake flows 220 on the intake, says it should be ported, or your gonna loose some hp up top and a few rpms. xxxxxx head flows 230, xxxxxxxx intake flows 270, gonna hurt some low end torque. This is just really basic, but can give a slight idea.

I picked my engine combo in my sig after doing research. I understand those on a budget, using P heads, windsor heads, even those wanting to look stock with gt40 irons etc, but personally, the gt40x heads came out long ago, while the rest of the aftermarket has improved, and gives you more performance for your buck. I was gonna use all motorsport parts too, but to get the power I wanted, I wouldve had to spend more to get the x heads up to the task of afr/tfs heads. You can still probably make 270-280 at the wheels with out of the box gt40x heads e cam and cobra intake with supporting induction/fuel. Where as the trickflow kit should be near 300. If you piece together the kit more and fine tune things with maybe some port matching, more rpm, compression, remove accessory drag, most likely 330+.

Just trying to help you spend the cash wisely, but dont get me wrong, I think the x heads are good, but need to be improved upon. And that kit comes with the china made cobra intake, which I hear has oil consumption problems, even after the slight fix.

Last year, with the AOD, it put down 257 rwhp and 285 rwt. Since then, I've swapped over to a T-5 and it is going back on the rollers next weekend (the 8th). There have been no other changes made to the car since last year, so I'll post up the numbers to give a real world example of the power difference between auto and manual.

BTW, I'm the one that first posted about the oil consumption problems of the Cobra intake. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone at this point. Even after doing FRPP's "fix", it still sucks oil to the tune of a quart every 200-250 miles. After the dyno, I'll be switching over to a Tmoss-ported GT-40 that I have sitting on my bench.
