If you think you can do a supercharger installation yourself, what makes you think you can't handle a turbocharger installation? Turbo engines for these cars are readily available and there is more of an aftermarket than you might think. Use the search feature for these forums and you'll find a wealth of information. Also check out www.turboford.org and just read all you can. Also on www.stinger-performance.com there is 2.3 turbo swap "How To."

Well, the problem is that nobody makes a supercharger kit for the 2.3, at least not that I know of. If you wanted to put one on there, it would require extensive fabrication on your part just to make it work. And then, you wouldn't be able to run more than...what is it, 10 psi? or is it lower than that? I can't remember. Which, with a supercharger, would give you a negligible gain for the time & money spent. Now there's a chance somebody does make a kit for a 2.3L, but if so it will be designed to fit a late model Ranger and will cost around $3000 like all supercharger kits.

The only way to get any real power is to swap in a turbo engine. You can pick one up for less than $500.
