A buddy of mine has a 1 owner 93LX with 80K on it, and the car is in really good shape. He's got nothing in it cause the motor is trash, so I talked him into building a turbo 2.3 for it backed by a C4. Well, this was just yesterday he decided to do it, and today he's already found the C4 he needs, built minus a stall, and the guy he's buying it from called his buddy who has an 87SVO motor minus the turbo. Dirt cheap for all of this stuff. We are gonna try and retain the factory crank, put new rods/pistons in it, some headwork, cam, some intake work, found a new T3/T4 with TIAL wastegate for $600 (I don't know how he does it......)gonna throw a spearco front mount in it, and hopefully a FAST setup with a good fuel system in it. We are converting it to 5lug using the SN95 stang spindles if we can find them, and putting a 9" in the rear of it. Couple things...would like some advice on keeping it streetable but fast, some tips of doing the entire swap if anyone has done it, and then if someone knows of some of the parts I'll need, and where I can get them. Thanks all!

True that. Whether it's a merkur or tc, it's still an SVO style engine. :) Did I cover up my flub good enough there? Haha. Thanks for the help bro. You have stuff for a 5 lug conversion? :D My old 88 with a 2.3 turbo made 398rwhp and 511rwtq on a 50 shot, and we are looking to put down around 350+rwhp with this one, and still be streetable. Thinking about putting in the "big stuff" controller for it. Need to message them and see how well it works with the 2.3.

For the 5lug conversion, it's best to use 94-95 mustang spindles, so that's what we are after. The newer spindles put the wheels out about an inch, looks kinda odd. And we are gonna keep an 8.8 in it instead, just gear it up a bit and put a trac loc in it. Gonna get either a FAST or BigStuff controller instead of the 9".

As for my old car, it was an turbo coupe motor, stock crank, crower rods, je pistons, ranger big valve head ported and polished, custom grind cam (not sure of the specs, sorry, i'd love to share them), ported/gutted intake, custom throttle body, T03/04 hybrid turbo at 21psi + 50shot, or 23psi -50shot, spearco front mount intercooler, manual boost controller, adjustable fmu, adjustable cam gear, 75lb injectors, tremec tko 5speed, 8.8 with 3.73 gears. Car went 11.09@123mph on slicks. Some of you may know him, Sean Fling, he built the car originally, and I took it over cause I thought it was a fun car. He was still the main techy for it even when I had it. We spent a lot of late nights tuning that car. It was so touchy. There is another guy, Brian from Kansas City, who has a bad ass SVO that Sean worked on back in the day. Now Tim from Vettes and Performance and the Huber group handle it I believe. Brian's car was wearing some of my old parts at one point (still running my old trans I believe). His car runs mid-high 10's now, street car. It's a screamer.

http://www.vettesandperformance.com/ go there and look under customer cars and videos, all the links to the SVO are videos of it. One is of him racing another mustang on the street...that mustang has a blown 289 from an 01 stang I believe and makes 550rwhp. :)

And check out the Festiva videos for a good laugh. :)

Yes, I know Sean Fling and Bryan Hall. Sean's V10 Grand Marquise is pretty neat as well. Bryan's SVO has actually ran low 10's (10.02) and he's now switched to a C4 and soon an Aluminum head. He's running my header and a few other parts of mine...

And I believe we will be running your header and intercooler setup on this new car as well. :nice: Was browsing your site yesterday, very nice header. Would like to talk to you sometime and get some advice from you. We have the engine and trans now, just need to start piecing it all together. If he can sell one of his three houses he has for sale, then I'll have all the $$$$ I'll need to put this thing together. He has the money for it now, just thought he should sell one of his houses and use some of the money from that for the car...but he's already starting to buy stuff. PM me if you don't mind Stinger, and let me know what setup you think would net around 350+whp. I'd like to see more like 400+, but he'll settle for a 12 second street car.
