94-95 5.0 Fuel Line Adapter Fitting Question

I'd like to know if this connector fits to the 5/16-hard line in the engine bay.

I'm asking because there are two flares on the hard line. Will the connector click on the first or second flare? Generally, is it secure? Did someone already try this? A lot of 94-95 folks know this discussion about the plastic-retainer-pop-off-fire-hazard-stuff:

I'm not sure if that second flare would interfere with the safety clip at all, but I think you could probably make it work.

Edit: Re-reading what you wrote above you already found it. lol That's gonna be the big question - will the 2nd flare keep the safety clip from working.
My gut tells me it's going to cause a problem, and $35 is pretty steep. I've had no problems for a few years with my hack so I probably won't swap it out. Unless someone affirms it works so I'm interested in the answer too.

hi dudes! finally I've got the part and installed. It fits! The only thing is that the lower ring on the hard fuel line should be grinded off if you'd like to put the security bracket on. beside that, you will later not be able to push through a removing tool to remove the part because of the lower ring standing right in its way.
keeping that in mind be sure to grind the lower ring off before putting the connector on the hard line. otherwise you'll not be able to remove the connector from the hard line FOREVER.
I'm driving my car for a week with the new connector and didn't encounter any issues until now.

Thanks brother, great information. Unfortunately still looks like there's no way to do this without getting out the fabrication tools. Seems like this would be a solid solution once you're done. That lower ring - can that be ground off or is it a flared out part of the line?

good question! I'have it ground off only on two opposite sides, not the whole ring. I looks solid and not flared out of the line.
If so it would fall apart if you grind it completely off? the consequences would be very ugly.
I have to carefully check that out. I suppose it may be the same like on the stock fuel filter.

yeah the lower ring looks like a flared part of the line. that's bad. but I was lucky and didnt ground it totally down. it didnt fall apart
lesson learned: DON'T GRIND THE LOWER RING DOWN!
you know the connector is perfect - and I like it - the only thing is that the security bracket doesn't fit without fab tools. good for you if you can live without it. however the connector has metal pieces holding the line, much better than the other plastic stuff which can easily pop off.

Thanks for all the info, I agree the metal retainers are probably a lot more solid then degrading plastic clips. I'm still not sure what's the easiest. Faulty plastic connector no longer available, newer screw-on retainer that doesn't fit, newer security-retainer that doesn't fit and might be hard to ever remove, or the cut-off-and-compression-fitting connector. Personally if I were starting over, I think I'd pick the compression-fitting connector, get rid of that troublesome set of flares once and for all. In my case I'll probably never find out, what's done is done and it's staying like it is. No matter what the imperfect solution or customization required, we're still better off than 24y.o. vinyl or the pop-off engine fire situations.

When you order fuel line part from LMR, you get all the new clips. I'm sure you might be able to get them separately. I was just messing with a new one I got with my lines and I broke it. Sucks cause i have to find just one for the pressure line under the hood
