I have heard you can swap the MAF from a 94-95 stang into a 89-93 stang? Is this true, and if so what other information do i need to make this type of swap. for example to i need the harness from the 94-95 MAF or should it just connect right up to my 91? I am asking because im going to a junkyard tomorro and may be able to pick one up for cheap? is it worth the trade or should i just save up for a Pro-m? anyone who has performed this swap your advice and experience is welcome! thanks

I'm looking at this too as part of a speed density to mass air upgrade. 94-95 MAF's were 70 mm vs. 55? on the earlier cars--both are calibrated for 19 lb injectors. As for plugs, I think it's a direct plug in--anyone else?

The plugs are different. The top is 89-93. The bottom is 94-95.

After swapping the plug you should be good to go. http://fordfuelinjection.com/products.html has them for 20 bucks. Just remember that the filter mounts differently.

I am running one and it works fine, direct swap for the wiring.

94-95 Mustang GT MAF - junkyard cost is $40-$100. It is 70 MM instead of the stock 55 MM on regular stangs built prior to 94. It uses a slip on duct on the side that goes to the throttle body and a 4 bolt flange on the other. You need a $25-$35 flange adapter from Pro-M to fit the stock slip on air ducting that goes to the air box. Wiring plugs right in with no changes.

Pro-M has revised their website lately, but here's what I found for the MAF adapter flange.

http://performancepartsmall.com/detail.asp?id=223 metal adapter.

I got a metal one from Powered by Ford for $35 and tax. That was about a year ago.

The problem with the 94-95 mass air though is that it has that bigass air stabilizer bar in the middle, so you can call it 70mm but if you factor that in, it's probably about the same as the earlier models, I had cut mine out before I got my pro-m 75mm unit, but it just made the car run a little rougher, I wouldn't waste the money, just get yourself a nice aftermarket unit, especially if you have cold air, cause then you can have it calibrated for that too!
