I need some help here. I am having a 347 built for an off-road race truck. Due to space, I need to use the 94-95 short front accessory package. What a pain! Can anyone help me with the following problems:

1) Can't find the stock alternator / tensioner bracket. It is not available from Ford and I can't find an aftermarket source. It needs to go in or near the stock location.

2) Water Pump Pulley - I want to go with a stock one for as much cooling as possible. Ford has a part number for a Cobra pulley and a non-Cobra pulley. Which one do I need?

3) Remote oil filter - I have been looking at the the billet rotating adapter that Ford Racing has for a year. Now that I need it, they quit making it! Is there any alternative that hugs the block really tight? I have used the screw on cast style and want higher quality.

Thanks for any help!

The cobra spec pump pulley may be slightly underdriven. So i would go GT for the water pump pulley.

+1 on the GT pulley

As for the alternator bracket, those are worth their weight in gold if you can find them. As far as I know the only source for these would be off junker cars or used ones that people are willing to part with. Maybe someone on here will have one that they are willing to sell you to help you out.

It seems the crank pulley and water pump pulley are obsolete. The Cobra pulley is in stock at the local dealer. Regular puppley is about 5" diameter and 2" back spacing. I guess I will measure up the Cobra one.

THanks for the info on the bracket.

Did the 5.0L Explorer come with a remote oil filter?

you could go with under drive pulleys, get the whole set new for under 100

if your not running smog you could probably use some custom style brackets, i think i remember seeing someone on here using them

Why not just buy a remote oil filter location kit that lets u run it to any spot up front on the car?

If I'm right the cobra water pump pulley is overdriven which will be better for your app. but I would measure it to be sure

My stock cobra pully is exactly the same as my BBk underdrive pully, all the other ones were larger, not by much though.
