since i dont really know what "L" means on a normal scale, wondering if its something to worry about on my mostly stock 94 cobra, guage was broken when i got the car, 95k on it, chip, cold air and off road x pipe and magna flows were on it when i got it, i added under drive pulleys (yes hence my question of temps) be cool aluminum radiator 2x the size of the stocker and a high flow water pump, and fixed the water temp guage to find it riding high at L

once the car heats up she runs well, but sits at L, reason for concern?

Either the temp sensor for the computer (ECT) or the sensor for the gauge (CTS) are bad. You can either replace both, or you can get a code reader that reads PIDs (sensors that the computer reads). It will tell you what the ECT is reporting. For my red GT, the CTS is bad causing it to read very high. In that case I ignore it since it's just the gauge.

If you're here in Southern California somewhere, PM me and I'll check it out for you with my code reader. No worries. :nice:

You can get a code red at Advance and AutoZone for free.

For future reference, if the sensor is for the engine, it's called a sensor. If it reads the temp for the gauge, it's called a sender.
