94 gt project

i have my buddys 94 in my garage doing a cam and intake swap. its a dss 331 with patriot heads , it had a trick flow street heat and a crane power max 2020 cam i am in the process of putting in a anderson n51hr and a holley system max . the car dynoed 288hp and 380 tq last time on a mustang dyno . what do you guys think it will make with these changes ? i'll post up some pics soon as i get them off my phone.

it has flat tops rick , with inline valve reliefs , i'm not sure of the dynamic compression ? with the small crane cam the car was done at 5k

with a 4cc flat top it would be in the 10.5:1 or higher range with a 58cc head. My last 333 with a Cobra intake made 380/404 to the tire on a MD done at 5400rpm...

Those numbers still seem low but Id guess youll pick up an honest 40hp, and loose a little tq...but it should carry power atleast another 800-1000rpm. Whats the basic .050" on that cam? I had a N61 in the past personally .544/,.568 228/232 110 if I remember correctly, My lil 302 made 340rwhp/tq on a Dynojet...made power up till 6300.

Make sure you have enough spring pressure....

its 226 234 @.050 520 528 lift ,the springs were only good to 550 that why i chose this cam , and when i pulled the lower off the gaskets were mis aligned by an 1/8 inch covering the port so that didnt help anything either .

new cam is in and i just need to adjust the rockers i hope to have that all done soon

It's the heads. Also explains the high torque number. It's real hard to make power with Patriot heads.

This is exactly what I was going to say. Those heads will hold it back pretty hard.

I replaced a set of Pro Comp 210's with a AFR205 and picked up 67RWHP once....no other changes

you guys are correct but i couldnt talk the owner into a better set of heads he spent all his money on the short block and getting it installed .now i am trying to make it run like it should or at least better

well paul stopped by last night and helped adjust the valves and i'm headed out to garage now to put intake on and add fluids, i hope to have it running later today

another update i came in to warm up intakes on valve covers and dist. now onto cooling system and upper intake

all done car is running pulls hard but with cold roads and tires its hard to tell how good ifeels alot better than before
