How can i tell if a tranny came from a 95 coba. This guys is selling me a tranny and says its from a cobra. the tag on it reams something like f something zr something. Do the cobras have a certain number. Need help asap, if it is a cobra tranny, i want to pick it up. Thanks

really. What is the difference then. Is it just the gear ratio, can it handle more power. WIll this transmission bolt up to a 93 5.0, i plan on putting this combo into my 67 mustang.

The input shaft is longer,IMO it is not any stronger mine blew up a month after I bought my car. I was gonna do a Gforce tranny but I ended up getting pissed at their poor customer service skills so I went with a Tremec 3550.

Same transmision as the GT, the 94 and 95 T-5 tranny's are 5/8" of a inch longer, So you will need the 94/95 bell housing for that tranny to work, The 94/95 were built a little better and can handle a little more than the previous years, but by no means is it meant for high HP.

Yeah the Cobra spec T-5 has coated gears and the pocket bearing on it. Supposed to be slightly stronger than a standard T-5, but it's still a T-5, it's gonna break under severe use. Very smooth tranny for a cruiser though IMHO.

As was mentioned above, use a '94-'95 bellhousing as the '94-95 T-5's did indeed have a longer input shaft. I'm assuming you're having a driveshaft made anyway for this swap, so that shouldn't be an issue..
