My dad just got an 04 mach. He keeps talking trash that it will take the cobra. The cobra has k & n fipk, and flowmaster catback. I will be on drag radails and his car is all stock. What do you guys think?

Back when I only had 4.10's and an Xpipe, I raced a Mach 1 (stock) from like a 5mph roll. He was on my @ss like glue the entire time.

Since you have drag radials, you need to race from a stop, that will be your biggest advantage. If you only had gears, the benifit of the drag radials would be magnified 3 times over. If you get a PERFECT launch you could probably beat him. How are his launching skills? All it will take is a little wheelspin for him to fall behind perminantly considering you nail the launch.

With all that being said, his car is the more powerfull of the two. Your car is probably making around 265rwhp and his is making around 279-290rwhp.

My money is on the Mach. A manual trans version with a good driver is a low 13 sec car stock, your cobra won't touch that. Plain and simple they have a great set of clyinder heads and cams from the factory.

i read an article somewhere , they compared a 99 cobra, 203 mach, and 2001 bullit, the mach had beat the cobra a lil bit, but they said with 410 gears, the cobra would destroy both cars. dont you guys think with 410 gears, the cobra would win?

You didn't say that you had mods....what you have? 4.10's will really liven that cobra up.

Yeah, like I said, if he had gears then the potential of those drag radials GREATLY increases. With good traction and gears you can launch like a rocket.

a good 2 or 3 tenths depends on whether or not the mach 1 is auto or manual. the manuals are quite a bit faster.

my money is on the mach 1

The mach is a 5 spd. The cobra will have an O/R H on it by the time we go out to the track. We have to wait till it cools off a bit. Racing in 110 is not any fun. I really want to regear the car also. Are 4.10's the best gear for a cobra. The stockers aren't any good, but the gas milage is awesome.

pretty good =]. those Mach 1's are pretty fast stock(mufflers). i raced one from a roll. i think 60 or so. and stayd side by side. pulled ahead just a lil.4.10's + gears on cobra's wake these bad boys up. next mod are 4.30's i would recommend those too. if your not a daily highway driver . run that mach from a roll ( 50) in 2 gear, and see what happens lets us know what happens =]
