Look at the intake ports on the heads. They are different. The NPI intake ports are kinda roundish. The PI intake ports are kinda squareish.

I know but is there a way to tell without doing that?

Not that I know of. You have to look at the intake ports. Or if you pull the valve covers maybe you can fine some casting numbers that you can Google and find out.

Just went outside and noticed something leaking onto the inside of my rim on the driver's side rear rim. Looks black and it smells bad like gear oil. What could this be?

Possibly. Try cleaning up the area and see where it is coming from.

It's the axle seal. My friend who is a mechanic wants to charge me around 200 in labor to do both seals. It doesn't sound like that great of a deal. How hard is this job?

To replace the axle seals you have take apart the rear brakes and pull the axles which requires opening up the differential and removing the c-clips. It's not a hard job, just takes time which is not cheap as far as labor is concerned. Might as well replace the axle bearings as well since you will already be there.

I have another friend who says hes done axle seals on trucks plenty of times who would do it for me in his driveway for 20 bucks. Would you trust that?

I've done it before. It's time consuming but not too hard to do. I wouldn't do it for 20 bucks though

Got the seals done. They were original from 96. Anyway I have another question. My car started up right away all day no problem until the 4th time starting it today. It clicked then I tried again and it clicked again then the 3rd try started it right up. It started right up normal speed without hesitation. What could this be? The lights were fine and the battery guage on my dash was reading normal. It has been pouring all day long could this have something to do with it? Thanks in advance for any help

I've had weak batteries do that when the top gets wet. Also had an external starter relay act like that briefly before it totally scrapped out.

The lights turn on and all when the car is off doesn't that mean the battery is alright?

Not necessarily. These cars are finicky when it comes to electrical. If it is a little weak that could cause an issue. Let it run to get a good charge. You can always take it to a parts store and have them check the electrical system.
