97 Cobra stock vs Integra GSR with Turbo

Ok my friend has a 97 GSR Turbo 8psi with full bolt-ons and cams. Last weekend we raced a Bmw M3 from a roll and the Bimmer pulled us with no trouble. Then he called me today and said he pulled on a 97 Cobra from a roll on I95. It's my understanding that the sn95 Cobra makes 300hp at the crank and the Bmw makes around the same amount of power. So how is it he pulled on a Cobra but not a M3 from a high way roll??? The M3 was a 2003 or should i say the new body type that out now.. Any way can some one tell me how much rwhp a Cobra makes stock?? My friend should be making 230-240whp. Or Iam i wrong on this is the Cobra not as stong as i think.

Moving this "highway racing" story over to SVT Talk instead...

96-98 cobras were rated at 305 horsepower from the factory (flywheel). See www.svt.ford , archive section for further info on each of the cobras.

Figure 15% standard deduction for drivetrain losses on the dyno and you wind up with roughly 259rwhp SAE in bone stock trim for a 96-98 Cobra, give or take a few ponies.

You'll probably want to account for other variables when comparing those highway races (vehicle weight, gearing/powerband, etc).
