I did a search and could not find the proper belt size so I'll ask these questions...

I am looking for tips on how to do this mod. I have an 86 Mustang. I am going to remove the A/C and Smog pump and chrcoal canister. I am wondering what size belt I will need. I am buying the FRPP A/C removal kit where the power steering pump moves to where the A/C is now. Is there any special tips or tricks you all may have from taking the A/C out? How about the smog stuff?

I have an '86 H.O in my '88 T-Bird.I just got finished doing the exact same thing.I used a short belt to bypass the smog pump (which was removed),and it was a Duralast 73.5 inch belt from AutoZone.I tried the GoodYear belt, but it wouldn't fit right.I've been running the short belt for a week (and a whole bunch of miles) with absolutely no problems.

I also have the frpp kit for my 89 and plan on doing the same thing. I want to take the smog pump and a/c off it and run a 73.5 belt? When you do this let me know so I know which belt to buy. My compressor is already disconnected and all other a/c stuff is gone. Do you think I will see a noticable difference with a much shorter belt? BTW I think I have underdrive pullyies, maybe frpp or march. Does anybody know how I can tell what pullies I have?
