Alright I have a 04 mustang Gt (bought it brand new) and ever since i got it when i turn on the a/c or defrost it makes a clunk noise and it does it ever so often when its on. I took it back to the ford dealership and they "fixed" it but it still continues to do it so i took it back to ford and talked to someone else. He kept my car for a while and then told me it was a normal thing new cars do???
Okay if its normal then why didnt they tell me that the first time around?? Plus i have only owned new cars and never heard this before.. Please tell me im not stupid and that was a bs excuse to tell me cuz im a girl....
So what is it??
thanks
Jen

Yeah it's normal mine does it and all the other 04's I've been in do it. But I have 2 ways for you to fix it.
1. Get a loud exhaust.
2. Get a loud system.

Don't know how loud it is but it could be the A/C dryer bottle hitting the firewall. Noticed the noise disappeared when I held the bottle. I modified the bracket and never heard it since...

Does it sounds like its coming from your exhaust ?

My '04 did it on the test drive, and every time I turned it on since.

I took it in once, the dealer said "excessive air gap" and claimed to have fixed it.. it wasn't quite as loud since then but still makes the clunk.
