Ok so the other day my hood comes up at speed....

Anyhow the car is hurt, cowl, roof, hood, etc...

So *yesterday* I take it to Liberty Mutuals "home shop", expecting to get low-balled, and stroked... you guys know the drill. To my suprise the guy is a stanger' himself. His is a 73' rag top (not my first choice) but still a stang....
After we bs a little, he does the estimate and it actually seems fair to me. WOW I was shocked, and he says he'll fax it to Liberty Mutual and they will cut me a check.

So I call the lady *today* figuring she is going to try to total it, tell me the car isnt worth fixing, etc... and Im just sure that Im going to have to fight to fix my car...

Again to my suprise, she pulls up the account, and says they got the estimate yesterday afternoon, and sent out the check in this mornings run. She explains that they typically give money based on market value, not on KBB or anything like that, cuz KBB - etc.. dont take into account the emotional attachment, (she actually said that) that people have to their vehicle, and that it is worth more to them than it would be to a stranger.

I almost passed out....

I asked her if they were in the habit of being square with people and not trying to screw them like every other insurance company I had ever dealt with? .... "Yep, ya know people ask us that quite a bit."

Then she asks if I need the rental car, I tell her no, Ive got two others, and dont need it. She says that she has it all ready to go with Enterprise, and shell leave it open for a day or two in case I change my mind.

I mean when was the last time you felt like an insurance company was going out of their way to treat you right, and deal with you square?????

Liberty Mutual, I cant say enough good things..... :nice: :flag:

wow. different

that's really cool man... I've been having nothing but troubles w/ Progressive from that accident a few months back... I have AMEX coverage, and they're being nice, but progressive wrote me a check for $400 for the rear bumper replacemet, the bumper pad, bumper support brackets, paint and labor! (yeah right!)

-but jeeze man... I should look into Liberty!

Oh and I almost forgot....

then she tells me if the shop that I take it to, finds additional dammage after they get into the car, they just call her 800 number with the additional amount that it is going to cost, and they send another check strait to the shop to cover the extra. That way I don't get stuck for dammage that the estimator missed.....

again, I almost fainted. :hail2:

So the plan is to fix the hood myself, then take the money they gave me to replace it (he listed a cervinis by name, and even included an extra 125 to cover shipping, how cool is that) and buy a complete Saleen ground effects package to match.

Liberty Mutual baby.... Im grinnin all the way to the body shop. :D

j/k :flag:

aim high kneegrow

Ya know I dont remember ever seeing a comercial for them on tv, with customer service like this they might not NEED to advertise.... :D
They have a picture of the statue of liberty on their letter-head, and envelopes, etc...

But anyhow, for my stang (the 90) and my 98 ranger, full coverage on both with a couple tickets (2) its like 112 a month, single and 34.

The fastback has agreed value thru a diff company, and the bike is through progressive (only because most insurance companys wont insure a gsxr, or cbrr or zx_r, etc...)

UPDATE....

Got the check today, for 2400 and some change...

Not bad, like 4 days from appraisal to payment.

<<< Now going to order ground effects... :D

..the only part that sucks, is that the car will be out of comission for three of four weeks while its getting painted and pin-striped. But it should be worth it when its done.
