Ok so the other day my hood comes up at speed....
Anyhow the car is hurt, cowl, roof, hood, etc...
So *yesterday* I take it to Liberty Mutuals "home shop", expecting to get low-balled, and stroked... you guys know the drill. To my suprise the guy is a stanger' himself. His is a 73' rag top (not my first choice) but still a stang....
After we bs a little, he does the estimate and it actually seems fair to me. WOW I was shocked, and he says he'll fax it to Liberty Mutual and they will cut me a check.
So I call the lady *today* figuring she is going to try to total it, tell me the car isnt worth fixing, etc... and Im just sure that Im going to have to fight to fix my car...
Again to my suprise, she pulls up the account, and says they got the estimate yesterday afternoon, and sent out the check in this mornings run. She explains that they typically give money based on market value, not on KBB or anything like that, cuz KBB - etc.. dont take into account the emotional attachment, (she actually said that) that people have to their vehicle, and that it is worth more to them than it would be to a stranger.
I almost passed out....
I asked her if they were in the habit of being square with people and not trying to screw them like every other insurance company I had ever dealt with? .... "Yep, ya know people ask us that quite a bit."
Then she asks if I need the rental car, I tell her no, Ive got two others, and dont need it. She says that she has it all ready to go with Enterprise, and shell leave it open for a day or two in case I change my mind.
I mean when was the last time you felt like an insurance company was going out of their way to treat you right, and deal with you square?????
