A little turbo setup in a classic

Ok, I know I'm gonna get flamed for this but.....

I was thinking since everyone puts V8's into 240z's (which I will be doing in a few more years) that it would be kewl to put a turbo datsun 280z motor into a I6 mustang. It would be an interesting novelty item for sure....

Can I slap you now, or after you do the swap?:D

cool. I've always had thoughts of turboing a 300ci 6 to put in a truck, I don't think a 300 would fit in a mustang. The long stroke would make for a serious torque monster.

actually the 300 fits reasonably well in a mustang. you have to make a few compromises though, like move the rad forward, and the engine as far rearward as possible. however the 250 has nearly the stroke the 300 does(3.91 for the 250 vs 4" for the 300, though the bore is nearly 1/2" smaller(3.68 for the 250 vs 4" for the 300). and since the 250 is but an inch longer than the 200, and slightly under 2" taller than the 200, it does fit much better than the 300.

holy moly... thanks for all the comments and aompliments, and the helpful hints and such... the 2 cars posted are my heros, the falcon is will & kelly (does 10s), ther are running the same head and car setup I am, except I have a larger carb. the supercharged stang is mustangaroo on another forum they are 2 of the reasons why I did what I did. ummm the fuel pump is referenced, and ummm the only problem I am having is when takign off decently slow it likes to have a bit of a hesitation at 1500 rpms and you really cant MASH the gas at low rpms, I am tihnkign it has sometihng to do with timing as I have only retarded it and disconnected the vacuum advance, I was lookign into the ltm-1 (that doesnt look right) as a tuner somone I know has one and they love it... ummm I think thats about it... oh and I ran into the back of a honda crv and smashed the crap outta my front end... (not as bad as it couldda been...)

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y287/chikndude5/werwerwer.jpg theres a pic... umm I have most of the stuff to fix it, but I will need the chrome pieces... again thanks for all the help and comments... oh and yes a300 fits in stangs... heres an example of one... the link is where I hang out... look up some posts... goto the turbo section and see how many other I6 turbos there are... pretty cool site... http://fordsix.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27410

it can be referenced, and the PSI can be high enough. But the volume can still lack. Had the same problem after getting mine running. An LM-1 will tell you in a heart beat if it's lean.:) Double check the floats to begin with that hesitation.
