Ok guys, it's been a while since I posted on here. Been busy with my newborn son so there wasn't alot of free time.

I created wheels database a while ago that attempted to address a problem I had when I was looking for wheels. I want to see other people's wheels on my model car so it could potentially help me decide on a wheel. That site was a good start but it was really rough around the edges and left alot to be desired.

www.checkoutwheels.com is the new version of this site.

This site has several improvements over the old one (which is gone completely)
  1. Nobody can edit your information when it's uploaded
  2. I used dropdowns where possible so everything is consistent...i.e.
  3. If you go to upload your wheel setup and only know the offset it will calculate the backspace for you automatically
  4. If you go to upload your wheel setup and only know the backspace it will calculate the offset for you automatically
  5. You can see details for the wheel by clicking on the hyperlinks or thumbnails
  6. You can search by wheel size, backspace etc - this will return ANY car (not just Mustangs) with that setup
  7. You can search for cars by year, make and model
  8. I made it easier for me to delete 'junk' that someone might upload....
  9. This site isn't restricted to just Mustangs although that's my love. I saw no reason to restrict it so ANY car you want to share please do
  10. If you hover your mouse over a row in the search results it will show you the front and back tire setup

The site isn't perfect but it's a labor of love because I do enjoy wheels. Currently I tried to convert the old database over to this new site. There are some of you who will recognize your cars. These are uploads from the old site. The site currently only has classic Mustangs in it.

Hopefully the site will be well received and you can tell me how I can improve it. Please verify the backspace/offset automatic calculations are correct. I think I did the math correctly but you never know.

Sorry for the long post

very cool site

Thanks, I have put some work into it. And if you saw the other one you would see significant improvements.

I want to make that email functionality live this evening. That way if you see some wheels you like you can email the info to yourself or a friend...and that includes the picture as well.

There are alot of people added to it, so that's cool. I need to check my offset math because I think it may be slightly off. That being said if my calculation is wrong I can adjust the database to reflect the correct values.

Please put any other car you have wheels and pics for as well. That is what it is there for.
