Anywho, im a strict simple bulb...roof light/gutter line type of guy thanks for my dad. Also the tall bush and trees

Nice! Me too actually.

Buy some good quality lights if you can... honestly nothing ruins the spirit of setting up lights each year more than a dead/mostly-dead strand of lights you just bought 1-2 years ago.

My local hardware store sells light strands (big bulb type) by the foot, so you can measure your roof and make it just right.

My wife was going to mow the lawn while I was gone at work this week, but she couldn't get the lawnmower to start, because the primer doesn't work on it. Now I'm the kind of person that just sprays half a can of starter fluid into the air filter when the primer stops working, but she didn't feel comfortable doing this. So I went out there this morning and took the carbuerator apart to find that it is completely filthy. A little bit of carb cleaner and some compressed air through the circuits and it primes beautifully now. I also sharpened the blade and changed the air filter. I found a $3 filter at Advance that I can cut down with a pair of scissors and it fits perfectly. Much better than paying $9 at the mower shop. You can run with it now, and it doesn't bog down. Great success, because the wife is out mowing the lawn and I'm in here bs'n on stangnet.

I don't think my lawnmower has an oil filter. I don't think I ever change the oil in it. I do have to rebuild the carb every few years, and change the spark plug about once a year.

i finally got the cover on the upper half of the fairlane's back seat. Geez, the thing was so tight i had to let it sit in the sun to soften it up and even then it was a real struggle to get it on.

I am not looking forward to the bottom cover ... it will probably be just as much of a pain as the top.

I think this thread kinda died. I have some insomnia going lately. Been taking OTC sleep aids practically every night, so I'm not up until 2-3 AM. It's 11:40, I've been up since 6:30 this morning, and I'm wide awake. :damnit:

Sunday 10/23 unfortunately. I'm going to another track day at Nelson Ledges. Hopefully my transmission won't break again. I'll post a pic of the damage after I get back from lunch.

That happened 9 laps into my first session at BeaveRun road course a couple weeks ago. The input shaft looks the same.

Decided I don't like my car here in Japan and I think it is going to blow up soon.

Its a Twin Turbo 5 Speed 1996 Legacy AWD. Its a very clean car, slammed, HID Projectors, Red Recaro's (coming home with me)... but it has a common subaru start up... where is kinda sounds like a very slight rod knock or valve noise until it is warmed up... That with a few other things, I think it will eventually blow up.

I don't really care about the car as long as it lasts until Jan 2013 when I PCS out of Japan. I did happen to get some AWESOME license plates for it

Transmission rebuild is starting out rough. Of course the end play was wrong on the counter shaft and I only had 1 shim. I found a pile of shims from my gear install kit, mix and match til I get .064 thickness, then spent an hour grinding them down. Now my end play is still way off and I checked it again at .101. Arrr. Found the perfect shim, spent another 30-45 minutes cutting and grinding it down to size and the counter shaft is good to go. I haven't ran into any other problems yet and I have the correct shims for the input shaft, so the rest of the rebuild should go smooth. Hoping to have it finished and either in the car or ready to go in tonight.

I have to rebuild my tranny soon too. I doesn't like to go into 1st and 2nd. No funds for it right now though.

On an up note, I love the company's new vacation program. I have 6 days of vacation next month, and I worked my schedule so that I ONLY WORK 9 DAYS in November. And I only have 3 nights in a hotel. My wife is going to go crazy having me home that much.
