A post a day......

Hear ya on the flight case....I puy my stuff on a scale one day before stepping to the plane....63 lbs. Flight pubs, helmet/o2 mask, NVG's, tool kit and most importantly, lunch box. That's not counting the deployed stuff, M4/M9, body armor and "break bag".....when a shoulder strap breaks it's time for E-pubs....

All the stuff I drag with me, suitcase, flightcase, and lunch bag weighs about 75lbs. I can carry 4 days of food with me though, and not pop my wallet open once. They've been talking about going to epubs for a long time now via an ipad, but they hit a snag. The finance guys says that the savings point for making any changes right now is $2.4 million over a 5 year period, and the epubs only save $2.2 million over a 5 year period, so they won't do it.

We fly RJ-200s, 700s, and 900s. It's the part 23 passenger model of a Challenger 600, formally known as "the little fricken RJ, that no one wants to fly in."

What jets do you guys fly?

I don't make the plane go up/down or left/right...I'm a Flight Engineer for the AF...fly on MC-130W's. (cargo plane with a cannon and missles...bunch of other "neat" stuff). Las Vegas, Huh? Do you work on Nellis/AF? Was just out there last week....parked at Nellis, flew out to the "range" every night...played some games with Army and Navy cats...

So, that anything like the Global Express size wise?
Ya, Nellis. Civi contractor in pneudraulics backshop. Crewed 16's for 6 years and 117's for 3 in my AF days. You guys probably parked right in front of our hangar. Next time your in town look me up. "Inspection" hanger (bldg 270) ask for hydro shop. Then ask for Chadd went you get into the shop.

Yeah, it's the exact same size as a global express, but equipped with different engines. It also has a slightly different wing design, and doesn't carry as much fuel.

Garage door opener repaired. That was the biggy. Now it's off to Home Depot. I need to buy a new flush valve, some new screws for the toilet seats, and I need to get bigger pop rivets to do the flight case.

I've ridden on a few of those. Beats the old Brasilia Turbo props. I have a bad habit of listening to every noise the plane makes (gear ret/ext, flaps, engines) I don't like flying on anything anymore.....

I've never ridden on a Brakilia. The Saab sucks ass enough.

Got the toilet flush valve replaced. I changed almost all the screws on the toilet seats. One set of screws just refuse to come out. I'm the one who cleans the toilets, and I'm tired of those screws rusting on the rim. I got the garage door opener fixed. Turns out the chain was lose, and skipped a tooth. The $5 pop rivets I got at Home Depot weren't long enough to fix my flight case. I'll have to go on the hunt for some longer pop rivets tomorrow.

Well it looks like I'll probably be trading my car in for a kona blue '12 GT next week. :) I'll be sad to see it go, but I'm really looking forward to having a new car.

Just make sure they give you a fair amount for your car. They usually try to steal it from you with what they offer! If all else fails, just sell out outright, don't take pennies for it... GL

Yeah stock engine. They're giving me what I wanted for trade in, although I'm sure half what they're giving me they just knocked off the price of the car. Still not bad considering it's a 95 with 175k on the odo.

Picking up the new car tonight, will have pics later.

I haven't been around much lately, but I'll keep coming back. I've been on here for almost 10 years, you guys are practically family now!

Here's a quick cell phone pic of the new ride. I'll have more soon if the weather stays nice.

Replaced it with an almost new stock replacement I had laying around from a wrecked 94GT I had parted out.
Also went with a new autozone replacement flywheel.
