AACCKKK!!??? Car won't start!!

They called today and said it kept stalling. Finally, it wouldn't start again. Sounded like it wasn't getting spark. Checked the coil, it was fine. Pulled a plug...black. Put in all new plugs. Still won't start. Any ideas?????

Also I know it's not a bad shop, I know the guy, and he knows his cars...this is him. Terry wasn't there today thought so he didn't get to check it out, hoping to get his opinion tomorrow.

sounds like the problem i had ... Its the pick up coil in the distruptor... buy a new distruptor and your problems will be fixed

put a test light in the wire closest to the intake going into the coil. Spin it over and see if the light pulses. If it doesnt, it is more than likely your stator in the distibutor. If you remove the distributor make sure to mark the cap where the rotor is pointing. Check for end play in the shaft. My bushing in the distributor went bad and the shaft had end play which tore up the stator. If it is pulsing, check the TFI module.

Running now, cleaned the MAF and the throttle body, backed down the timing a little. Thinking now it's some type of fuel management issue, thanks for the link!

The car is still falling on it's face around 3K RPM, dunno what's wrong there.
