So here's the skinny...

Back in October I was looking for an 03/04 Cobra. I was going to sell my 93 GT, get a cobra, and buy my mom's 99 Trooper to use as a daily driver. Well, my mom decided NOT to sell her car, and I didn't want to daily drive a Cobra. So a new plan was needed...I needed a reliable, fun, fast, overall enjoyable car to drive, that was also able to survive in a snow storm.

Enter, 06 WRX.

I decided to keep my 93, and I purchased an 06 WRX limited...fully loaded, blah, blah, blah. The car is awesome and I absolutley LOVE IT, but the problem is that I start to get some lower back and leg pain on long commutes ( I'm about 6'5", 220lbs.). The car has plenty of leg room, but the bottom seat bolsters are just too high & hard for extended period of time comfort.

Then, go figure, my mom got a new car and just parked the Trooper in the backyard. So, because of the problems with WRX comfort, I've been looking at 06 GT's. I'm thinking of trading in the WRX for an 06 GT Premium, fully loaded, and ALSO sell my 93.

What do you guys think...trade in the WRX & sell the 93 for an 06 GT; or what?

sorry bout' the long post, but I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place right now...

EDIT EDIT
oh-yeah...I forgot to mention that part about the WRX seat. New, for 06, is this complicated air bag system. There are a few sensors in the seat to determine seat distance from wheel, seat height, and seat back postition. These are all used to determine how hard to deploy the front air bag, and if and how hard to deploy the side air bags. So, a new seat is pretty much out of the question...

I was also saying that if I got the 06, I'd be driving the Trooper on snow days. You're right, I DO love the 93 & WRX...but realisticlly, I can't have 2 Mustangs at this time of my life...since I'm trying to save for a house and whatnot.

It sounds like you're in love with both cars, the 93 GT and the WRX. If it were me, I'd replace the driver's seat in the WRX for one that fit you better.

It all comes down to how much you really want the 06. It's not going to be any better in snow than your 93. I know this because I saw no less than 3 O5s being pulled out of street side drainage ditches this past winter (take into account though, folks with more money than brains).

Sell the wrx and gt, buy a cobra, use the trooper and hope your mom doesnt notice.

Actually i would just keep what you have and find a good set of seats for the wrx, they might be expensive, but its less of a hassle then trying to do what you are thinking.

I would keep the WRX, you would get hella screwed by the dealership if you traded your 06 in on an 06. Just change out the seat, seems easy enough, oh and if you intend on driving the WRX in the snow invest in some snow tires, I hear the rubber that comes stock is less then impressive in the snow.

Exactly what i was going to suggest.
not all aftermarket seats are pure plastic uncomfortable pieces of sh%t.

maybe even do a little research on some wrx forums. you could have a common problem. there could be alot of easily swappable seats.

You have a good setup right now! Get a back support pillow for the WRX seat and stick with what you've got now: a kick ass commuter even in bad weather and a muscle car for the weekends.

The 06 GT is NOT the solution to your problem.

I hear you on that.

Debating selling my GT for a "normal" car but then today i noticed a torch red '05 GT vert on the lot across the street from my work. Hmm....

But don't sell the 93...you will regret it.

Anytime you get rid of two kick ass cars for one, you're on the losing end of the stick. Considering the dealer will eat you alive on trade-ins and whatnot, buy a pillow, trade seats, it's gotta be doable and cheaper than what you're suggesting, and wait for two years of deflation to buy an S197.

My mom has an '06 impreza outback and she can't stand the front seats. They are very stiff. She got one of these memory foam lubmar support things online and it has helped her back a lot when she drives.

I wouldnt trade my 89 straight up for a new Mustang. I hate em.

It's also personal opinion, so thats what I'm going to give you. Keep your cars, I think you'd be much happier this way!

ok so, keep the 93 and get a new Mustang as the daily driver. I guess I can just bite the bullet and pay the extra cash out of pocket that I would've gotten from selling the 93...maybe I can work with this!
