AC Coil?

My AC compressor froze up so I can no longer use my AC until replaced but for the time being it sounds like the AC clutch bearing is making noise. I have a used clutch that will fit on but when taking the old clutch off the replacement clutch won't fit over the coil as it was fried when the compressor froze and looks distorted. I currently have the wire disconnected from the accumulator so if the heater/ ac switch is turned on it won't activate the clutch (doing so locks up the clutch as the compressor won't turn) and allows the pulley to free spin. Could I just remove the AC coil and put the good AC clutch on with no coil as the old one is making a lot of bearing noise. :)

Yeah, you can do that. It is pressed onto two different parts of the compressor. Autozone rents a tool to pull that off.

Thanks Kurt. I didn't think there would be an issue with it but just wanted to hear some opinions. It's going into winter soon here and likely won't tackle the ac compressor replacement till spring, plus it's a vert so always have instant ac available.
