Advancing timing to 14 degree's{hot?}

What strain on the engine does advancing the timming 14 dgrees do, heard rumors it will run hotter, is this true?

On my '95, anything above the stock 10* would make it run hot and send it into detonation at anything above about 1/4 throttle. On my older Fox Mustangs I have run as much as 15* and never noticed a difference in operating temp. Just back it off if it starts pinging.
