Quick question for everyone.....I am planning on switching from FMS Y303 heads to AFR 165's and getting a "streetbeast" flat tappet cam done by Ed Curtis.

What kind of gains could I expect from the switch?

Depends on what 'Ford Racing Cam' you have, but I imagine you could get an extra 20+ horsepower with the heads, and possibly the same with a custom cam...

A lot of factors can change this, it maybe be less and it may be way more...

Your heading in the right direction!

This is the Ford Cam I have if this make a difference -


M-6250-A312*

(1) 289/302 Flat Tappet Hydraulic 3500 5000 290° 300° 0.472" 0.496"

That is quite an old camshaft. The custom cam will blow that cam out of the water

It has a narrow powerband and biased towards an exhaust restricting head. Trust me, your AFR's will not be restricted on the intake or exhaust side

If you can get the money, I think you will love the results, good luck.
