Anyone know what this may be? It sounds like a rattle and only at low rpms. If I get on it, it goes away. Almost like vibration is causing it, but once I stick my head under the car it sounds far worse. Have a listen?

Any help would be very appreciated!

It doesnt really sound like a knock, could it be something simple?

Can't say for sure when I'm not there to hear where it is coming from, but it don't sound good. :notnice: To me I thought I could still hear it when you reved it up. Just harder to hear over the exhaust.

WHEW! Gawwd I was so hoping it wasnt my motor.. and from inside the car it sounds like thin metal exhaust rattle.. but from under the car it sounded worse so I wasn't sure. Under load and driving you cant hear it. Seems to be from vibration at very low rpms or after I let off the gas as the rpms drop.

Get an offroad x or h pipe and take the cats off, sounds like something is either loose/broken in the catalytic converter or in your flowmasters but I would start w/ the cats cuz who wants em anyways???

I think I'm gonna cry... called t&j and Jeff said it sounds bad He said take it back to the dealership. I called the dealership and he said it sounded real bad and he didn't want me to drive it and get stuck anywhere. He proceeded to give me the number to roadside assistance and told me to have it towed into the service department. Sad sad, sounds like a rod bearing from talking to them.

it doesnt sound like a motor problem to me (judging by two blown crank bearings in previous cars).. it sounds more like somethings loose like a rattle. my fathers navigator had the same sound and they replaced the heat shield under the exhaust and it was fine. Try checking that all your stuff is tight underneath exhaustwise before gettin worked up. Def take it to the dealership though.

I had the exact same sound in mine. sound almost like something metal rattling in the bellhousing. It quit if a revved it up a little. Turned out to be a chunk of the ceramic material loose in the cat and would rattle around until the exhaust built up enough pressure to hold it still. I had a BBK h-pipe for long tubes. I took it off and gutted both cats and the problem was gone.

this may sound crazy but it sounds like my mustang last year when I thought my engine "bought it". My mechanic said it was my driver side cat. I changed fuel brands and it went away  I know, I know..i'm just telling you what fixed mine when it sounded like that :) good luck

I see you have an aftermarket midpipe. Just a warning, if it ends up being a blown out cat on that x-pipe, they won't do anything except charge you $80 for their time. Warranty doesn't cover that. My advise is to narrow the noise down yourself before you take it in. Put the stock H-pipe back on and see if the noise goes away. If it does, get the X-pipe replaced. Bassani is notorious for having there cats blow out. They are crap.

Its the Bassani X pipe. Do a few searches on here and on the Corral and I thought it was suppose to have been fix. I guess they use 'Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me'ty Cats or something.
