AIR BAGS????

ok i bought a 95 mustang GT last september that has a salvage title and air bags were blown it needs to get inspected on Aug. 10th , i put insurance on it same month i bought it they asked me "did it have airbags" I said no , they said it will be like 20 dollars a month more, thats ok, but yea do i need air bags to pass inspection even tho i got insurance without them?, it was not listed on slips the state sent me as a requirement, but just wondering what you guys think i live in minnesota also incase laws change depending on states? help me out , much appreciated "CAR IS TOTALLY REPAIRED"

i cant give you a definate answer, but i was once with out those bags, i even raced in nh with out them, what do you have in place? i think a strong argument is the fact that there are many cars on the road with out airbags which in some way should let you slide by with out them.... even if your car was built with them. give it a shot though, or go to mps and get yourself a set but be prepared as you must know by now they are not cheap. oh and dont paint yours because i painted mine and they look like crap! get your matching colors, some people told me i could paint them to make them look better than new, what a lie that was.

What is in the place of the airbags? Do you just have huge holes in the steering/dash? If you have the piece that would normally cover the airbag (which i'm not sure is possible to have without the bag) then nobody would know its gone.
It probably really depends on where you go for your inspection, some shops will pass all out drag cars.

here in NYC, its illegal to buy "used" second hand airbags.

they must be NEW or bought out of state... if you are registering the vehicle for the first time and trying to get it cleared from the salvage title... DMV inspection will remove the airbags if they are not NEW!

HEy if your interior is black I got a black one for sale. I replaced my steering wheel with a momo and was planning on selling the wheel and bag on ebay. Look into it, if you have to have one and it can be a used one will I sell you mine.....
