Ite this thread right here is about the stupid things that previous owners have done to yourrides or things just not fitting, really pissing you off. Ok ill start off and say that, my shifter base is hacked up, totally loose and the bolts holding it in are stripped to hades, the thingwas held on by rtv, so thats prolly why I was missing 3rd all the time Second of all those stupid bbk long tubes are a pain in the arse to get off, you pretty much have to lift the engine out to get em off. Ok thats enough for tonight, tomorrow im going to the pick n pull to get a explorer shortblock, so I will have much more tomorrow, feel free to complain about anything.

hmmmmmm where to start.

bought my 83 on 5/03(ithink) of 2006

after we get it home i tear into it to find a hole in the headers. no biggie. get the welder out and weld a patch in.

the electrical is hacked up horn ect turn signals did not work.

we re wired the turn signals. but i can not get the horn to work.

the a/c dont work cut lines again. no biggie no a/c for me anyway. My neutral switch dont work. ( the car will start if it is in drive)

the shocks in the rear well what shocks you hit a bump and it would grind the road. just about every bulp there was was messed up.

the top cracked the day we brought it home. tail light cracked when i moved it. old and brittle i guess.

and there's some more.

the 76 cobra.

it don't move often that's it

the 86 not my car but my dads.

guy we bought it from lied said it had 60,000 miles on it. car fax says 230,000 miles. unless he ment that the engine was rebuilt. and it may have..still hold 125 psi across all cylinders (thats good i think )

well JUST ALOT OF ******* miles on the 302 and T5...but we drive it like its new

My '68:
1.)The PO not only had a real hillbilly rebuild done on the 289, but promptly left it out in the weather to rust up.....since 1998. I was going to put the roller 302 in anyway, but I wouldn't have minded an extra 289.

2.) The driveline was out of the car.
3.) In the process of tearing out the driveline, he lost about 75% of the fasteners.
4.) He cut out the radio hole to put in a modern DIN-sized head unit.
5.) General neglect

'84 SVO:
1.) General neglect
2.) Same problem with the radio

Well, its not something that the guy did but something he said:

"No Rust"

When I gutted the interior I found some rust on the driverside rear fender. I started to scrape it and the knife when through the floor.....Now there is a huge gash that I can stick my hand through and pick something up off the ground.

It can't be seen from the outside due to GT moldings.

umm no previous owners lol.

But what does piss me off is that I was talking to this chick and while I was talking to her I was sitting in my car(my speaker doesn't work so I wanted privacy, all I got is speaker phone) and I was playing with my ash tray door, which til tonihgt never had any problems and I broke it!!!!!!!!! and I WAS PISSED!!! That is one of the main things I am proud of, the not broke ash tray door, but all I did was get some needle nose pliers, bend the spring, put it back in the hole and twist and its fixed, why do you guys all have probs with it? I heard everybody has to take out the hole center console, needle noses work fine!!

*end rant*

Its alright, getting better though, new explorer engine tomorrow, will be interesting, ive got to fit it into the explorer with an engine lift, so that will be a challenge. shooting for real low 13's and maybe high 12's with some real tires, ones that dont spin through 3rd.

oh **** nvm, forgot you were getting the motor.

The spinning is what is killing me, 2.34 some 60ft with a 14.8, If I could drop it to like low 2.0s I could pull of some low 14s

Car had a slightly choppy idle but ran ok when you got on it. PO said it had an HP cam in it. When I dug into, it had a non-HO cam in it.

There was a studder when going in first gear, and the guy said it was a racing clutch, found out it was broken motor mounts

my headers are held on by both studs and bolts

Oh and in some fit of stupidity the PO cut out the center of the package tray before putting the rear seat delete in. Turned a nice rolling chassis into a butchered fox.
