all the parts are coming together!!

just won a set of 1999 cobra wheels with Yokohama Advan DOT approved race tires on egay!!

also en-route cobra IRS brackets and front 03 cobra lower control arms. Now I just have to get a 94+ MC and power booster and a 2/3 port conversion and I'll be in business. Not sure if the lower control arms will give me too much front camber but the guy who had the brackets threw them in for 30 bucks.

In the garage waiting I have a 99 cobra IRS and 13" front brakes/pbr calipers/ sn95 spindles.

Can't wait to get all this stuff on and head out to the track and autoX this spring!!!

Your putting an irs in your car? Did you send it to get thoose pices fabbed on.

no fabrication needed... it's an OEM cobra IRS but when i purchased it there were no brackets. So i sourced the OEM brackets to mount it to the car. Just have to do some brake line modification and remove the oem snub mount.

No im pretty sure there is something else you going to need. I read the write up in 5.0mustangs and they had to have something done to it first. The brakes were the least of there problems. And your going to need a custom exausht set up too.

here's the install faq i am working off of... http://www.mouthbreather.net/IRSSWAP.HTML i've read the MM article as well. There is also some massaging of the frame rails and a stock cobra exhaust is needed but it is a pretty straightforward swap.
Your going to have to shorten the flowtubes of the pipes to get them to fit right under the the fox car.. IMO why waste the money> People tear them out of Kewbras for a reason.

I am not a drag racer... I am building this car to be a spring/summer cruiser and track/autox car. I just don't like the feel of the solid rear axle. Plus, I had the IRS sitting in my garage waiting on another project so I figure why not swap it into the fox for the meantime and clean up some clutter in the garage :D If i kept the solid rear I'd have to do extensive mods anyway to get it to perform better and end up shelling out a lot more cash. Anyhow, the car needs a new exhaust badly right now and I can weld :)
