all you people out there with classic 5.0

Hey guys,

If you have an 5.0 EFI system in your 1970 coupe, what would be the best manifold? Cobra-Worthy? Edelbrock? Trick Flow? I'm looking through my Summit racing magazine, and if finding all sorts of manifolds. What I'm worried about is if it's going to fit in my car. I'm finding a donor car, 89-93, to take the engine out and if it comes with the stock EFI i wouldnt mind changing it to a nicer system. Anyone with their thoughts id be glad to hear them.

What is the rest of your setup?

Cobra does well with ported stock stuff/E-cam area

RPM II does well with bigger cams, higher compression, more cubes.

well im also going to do a fuel injection set up as well and a new distributor cap with electric start, new exhaust but that doesnt really have to do with this right now

I recommend doing all stock stuff first. Once you get it up and running then start changing things out. If you have problems the stock stuff will be easier to figure out the problem. I did Edlebrock performer intake and TB. I spent a few extra bucks on stuff that I couldn't use because I didn't know it wouldn't work in my case...

That's my plan. Solid short block/cam and good heads but stock EFI intake, dizzy, throttle body, Mass air until I get things running smoothly. Then turn around and start hot rodding it later as desired.

No reason the shouldn't. You'll get an upper and lower intake with any performance manifod. Only thing might be depending upon if you are using the EGR or not which moves the throttle body around a bit but nothing that couldn't be handled in the piping from there to the mass air sensor.

I guess you're using an EFI or custom export brace anyhow to clear the stock intake.

thanks for all your help guys, ill get one stock, make sure it runs good and then put some sweet new parts on it, if there is any more info i should know about this im all ears to hear your advice
