Almost got arrested...

Well i needed a little decoration for the dorm room tonight, and had seen some broken street sign off campus a ways, tucked back on a dead end road. it had been laying in the dirt for god knows how long... well apparently a cop saw me from the highway, and was soon behind me with his lights on. to make a long story short, i got a ticket for theft by receiving, but he cant spell receiving right. what a jerk. i know i wasnt right, but this was another one of those cops that gives the rest a bad name. accusing me of spinning my tires and taking a piss in the street. oh well...forums were slow, so i thought id post. have a good night:SNSign:

if I had a dollar for every street sign Ive stolen, I'd have $0. But I did take a parking sign from the Chili's my gf works at. Her managers a real dick and drives an 05 GT. One day they got to talking and she mentioned I drive a Mustang GT, the "old" kind. He told her he'd wipe the road with my ass, but never wanted to race me. So one day I ordered some take out, and when I got there one of the signs had broken off its post and was just laying there, so I took it. Im such a hard ass

i didnt do either, but he didnt write me for either. just theft by receiving, which actually doesnt apply to this incident. It should have just been simple theft im pretty sure, unless someone here knows more than what i have found out. Theft by receiving is knowingly taking possession of stolen property of another. I dont think that applies here, so can this get thrown out? or will they just change the charge in court?
