I have Alpine CDA-7873 head unit that I bought back in '01 I think. I also have the Alpine XM receiver that I bought about a year later that's connected through the AI-Net line. Now I'm looking for some way to connect my Zune MP3 player to my stereo because the two FM modulators I've tried suck worse than I thought was physically possible. I found an adapter that converts the AI-Net port to an RCA in jack, but I want to keep my XM. I noticed last night that my XM box has an AI-Net in and out, so I'm wondering if it's possible to connect that RCA adapter into the line in jack on the XM box? I'm thinking it shouldn't be a problem, but I just wanted to look into it before I bought anything.

Thanks guys! :SNSign:

i would try it... honestly, you may want to call or email alpine to make sure.
You could also use a "direct" fm modulator like these-

if the Xm unit you have is the Apline version not the universal one with alpine adapter, you can get an alpine KCA121b which and an aux input connector for alpine's AI-net connection. it would plug into the alpine xm box.

It is the Alpine version, I got it before they started using the universal boxes. The KCA121b is what I was looking at, for $16 I might as well give it a try.
