The second I step off this campus for the summer I am loading up in parts. Here is the deal I have a 1996 GT Auto. I have PI heads already that are awaiting to get bolted on. I was stuck between getting mods like LT, UDP, TA, Tranny work, gears, and custom tune or I can get cams, springs, valves, and P and P by an extremely talented head man. I figure with the stock PI heads and the mods it would be quicker than the car with just head work. However, they both have there benefits. Regardless of what I do a custom tune and tranny work is a must. This will more than likely be my only mods for the summer so I want it to be good ones. I need your help! Heads all done up or mods? Teach me in all your genius ways.

Since your heads and all are already off go ahead and put in the cam, springs, p&p heads, and then do the mods later to compliment it :nice:

Yep, that's whay I'd do. The savings in labor costs (or time if you do it yourself) will be worth it. Maybe LT's at the same time since it's all apart anyway. Gears and other bolt-ons can wait (if you can, hahaha).

P&P the heads is a judgement call. There used to be a thread with headswap results that showed some with stock heads had more power than ported heads. I would use the money to get cams, springs, Longtubes, and a good tune.

I have a 98 gt! My times are 14.4@95 im bone stock save for an exhaust and k&n. Ive been debating p&p heads, cams,lt's etc...nitrous,or charger! I think im going to go ahead and do the headswap w/ p&p, cams may have to wait b/c man are they high! When im done I hope to be over 300rwhp and into the 12's :D If I was you i would go ahead and port and throw some cams in the pi heads you already have, if you have the money!
