Amps draw on 3.8 Taurus electric fan???

Anybody know FOR SURE?

The article in Muscle Mustangs about a Junkyard Fan
has been reported as being incorrect, and actually
copied out of an article about a Mark VIII fan which
draws more.

I just bought a Flex-A-Lite variable speed controller
with soft start etc and now find that will only carry
a max of 30 amp load.

I read one place where the Taurus fan draws about
33 amps, so now I don't know if I can use this
fancy & expensive new controller or not!

Appreciate any solid info!

I got the 3.8 1993 taurus fan in my 1993 Gt - WORKS GREAT!!!! I only use the high setting and a cheap $20 adjustable theromstatic switch I got from Advance Auto Parts - works perfectly but there is a current spike everytime it turns on --- I had a 30 amp fuse in line at the battery and it blows that once a day so I put a 40 amp fuse in there and it never blows. I have now changed it to a 40amp circuit breaker - no problems - I think the only problem with 30amp is that the initial spike is over 30 amps and after that it is ok but that is just what I think....

Its around 25-30 A continuous.

The Mark 8, Sn95, Taurus all basically use the same fan motor. Different fan sizes and blade configurations change the draw slightly but they are all in the same basic range .
