And the bling goes on...

They're a place that does work for Harley Davidson and other big contracts, and don't usually do private work. I brought the car by to show off and hope they liked it enough to want to do something for me.

Since you're willing to ship your parts out, I know a place in Louisiana that is real good. I was going to have them do a Cobra upper for me but I changed my mind and stuck with the Typhoon. They even sent it back on their own dime when I changed my mind, which was real nice. They do mail order/private work all the time.

there is a place in piqua that dose all types of plating...chrome,nickle ect ect for REALLY cheap. im still debating reathet to have some of my engine parts chromed, painted or polished.

Looks fantastic Dave :nice: . Chrome is definitely lower maintenance. Did you save some dough with the parts being already polished before chrome?? Some people don't understand that parts like intakes and superchargers HAVE to be basicly sanded/polished first.
Also all chromers like everything else are not created equal. A good friend of mine got his chrome ponies re-chromed only to have it flake off less than a year later. Get some recommendations before you go to that 'guy who does it cheep'. Knowing Dave I'm sure he did his homework :D

It was a little more half the cost I was hearing to chrome a non-polished intake, so yes I saved a bunch.

These guys do chroming for Harley, so I'm sure they're up to snuff. I was real impressed when I saw it, and that's not easy to do especially when I'm spending $$$ :rlaugh: All the chromed intake guys I know have spots missing where they couldn't get it polished enough and/or plated well enough to look good. This one hasn't got that problem :nice:

As far as I know, any cast metal part has to be polished first. Flat milled pieces are another story, as is stainless steel. If it's not flat, it won't plate.

Thanks. I always wanted to chrome the intake but wanted to fool myself into thinking the polished one was good enough. For small pieces, it is, but not for the big part that's up front & center. I wish I did it when I first wanted to.

Hanging around people like you, Bottlfed, Paulie, etc., I can't help but feel like the engine isn't impressive anymore!

One thing at a time, and your next step will be a sweet one :nice:

WOW !! I thought my polished Explorer upper was nice.Yours looks incredible.I think I'd have to just put on the center of the coffee table so everyone culd just look at it when we have company.

Looks good Dave! I am getting ready to have everything in my E-Bay chromed as well. Unfortunately for me because mine stays in storage, I don't get the time to polish it up as much as I would like to... about once a year. I am having them chrome just about everything I can get my hands on.
