Another rack & pinion question.

I am seriously considering this kit but would like to hear from you guys as to what kit you are using and all the Pro & Cons. I have headers and a serp. belt bracket that has a mount for a 1977 style power steering pump. I have changed the steering wheel to a smaller one, have a detroit locker and the tires are 225's so its a bugger to steer.

I believe these are getting good reviews on the VMF. The initial kit was a manual kit which did not get good reviews, these seem to be much improved. You might wanna check it out over there.

I am using a Steeroids kit on my car. the car tracks great and is very sure feeling. A stricking contrast to what all my old mustangs in the past have been like. The downside is the turning radius has been reduced. You can't take a last second turn into a parking space. It now requires a little more planning. I am using a pump from a fox mustang without any adverse problems to date. My combo did require me to make some custom hoses for it all to work.

I would put on a power rack again without thinking twice.

I'm not using the Steeroids kit, but I am using the same GM J car rack and fox pump, so other than that, what he said:nice:

I'm going with Randall's R&P.
Home Page
It's very similar to Steeroids. I prefer to have the tie-rod ends, not the Heim joints used by Steeroids. Both have pros/cons.

I chose Randall's because I wanted 3.0:1 steering rather than 2.5:1
Also, Randall's kit includes more adapters, while Steeroid requires a little more fabricating.

These guys sell the Randall's kit, and can make the hose for a FOX style pump for a few more bucks.
