Another tire size question... sorry.

Yes, I'm lazy. But I did do a search before creating this new thread. I'm not used to poking around the newer forums as I have a 67 as well. I just picked up a 92 daily driver. Very nice, unmolested car. I like the stock wheels... but they, along with the tires, are just too narrow. I don't need anything extravagant. Actuall I'm simply interested in the Cobra R wheels. I believe they are 17x9? or is it 17x8??

I do NOT want them sticking out the wheel wells and hitting the fenders. The only mod on this car is Steeda springs... lowered 1.5". I'm assuming the Cobra R's have the correct backspacing. But what size tires can I run? I'd guess you can run a little fatter in back...

anyhow... please chime in or direct me to a link if you have one handy.

245/45 up front or maybe a 255 since you have a 90+ model with larger fender openings. 275/40 on the rear. You may have to flip over the quad shocks.

If you put some meaty DRs out back that always looks nice on Ponys or you can get them widened too.
