I installed my JLT II & XCal II combo about a month ago. Everybody is aware of the power increase & throttle response the JLT/SCT combo gives, so I don't even need to touch that.

But after I installed my 93 Octane "FUEL ECONOMY" tune, I am now averaging 24 mpg! I was only getting 22 mpg on the stock Ford tune and also with the SCT 87 Octane Performance tune. When I filled my tank w/ 93 Octane a few weeks ago, I installed the 93 Octane Performance tune. I didn't notice the mpg increase till I filled my tank a few days ago when I also installed the "FUEL ECONOMY" tune. I didn't think there would REALLY be a difference but there IS!

Does everybody's XCal's come with this many choices, or was this a JLT-added feature? (I bought my combo straight from JLT)
Mine has:

87 Octane (Fuel Economy)
87 Octane (Normal)

91 Octane (Fuel Economy)
91 Octane (Normal)

93 Octane (Fuel Economy)
93 Octane (Normal)

W00T for 2mpg increase and a ton of power!!

I purchased my CAI and SCT2 tuner from Steeda. I too have the same tunes available as you. It looks like SCT has incorporated these into all of their tuners. I was expecting for Steeda to create a custom tune for me for my CAI, and it very well may be, but it looks like Steeda provided SCT with the info and they built it into the tuner.

Actually, it is not 6 tunes. There are 3 tunes and the ability to choose (NORMAL MODE) or (ECONOMY MODE) for each tune.

This is correct.. the Normal/Fuel Economy is just an option within the tune.

Funny you should mention the Steeda tune in the SCT. I think you are correct, that SCT has just gotten programs/input from the individual CAI companies. I got my SCT from JLT, and under my airbox options there are several CAI's I can choose from... JLT, C&L, Steeda, & a couple others...
