Any differences in reliability between supercharger A and supercharger B?

The tune is the most important piece in the S/C puzzle. It can either make you or break you. If you buy the Mongoose kit from Modular Powerhouse, you will get WORLD CLASS customer service. I like my Vortech SQ, but I would not consider it super quiet as Vortech suggests. It is definitely noticeable at idle, most people thinks it sounds like a jet engine. I don't mind the sound, but passer bys will definitely notice the "whistling" sound.

I am also thinking about getting one of MPH's mongoose kits this summer. What should I expect for an average install price of the kit from a shop?

Thanks, that sucks that I live no where near them. They have some great prices on installs. Plus with MPH doing the stuff, you know it will be done right.

I've had some of my work done on my current and past mustangs by Joe and his crew at Chicane. Always had good work done and his labor fees are excellent. I'm about to get a Vortech non intercooled kit installed and was thinking of having Joe install it but since his shop doesn't have a dyno I think I'll have Danny Swanson at Swanson performance do the install with a dyno tune. My buddy and alot of people have had tunes done by Danny with excellent results.

I've heard the latter about Danny Swanson. Some guys at Chicane heard that Danny gives out non-conservative performance tunes that blew out one guy's car. I had heard at Chicane that once Joe installs your supercharger, he takes it to the only one guy he trusts with tunes. I believe he is Steve Rideout of Powertrain Dynamics. Joe said that he doesn't tune for the most horsepower, but his tunes are extremely reliable. Do you know how much Joe quotes for supercharger labor?

Ineteresting. I've heard the exact opposite. That Powertrain blows up cars and Danny set up the safe tunes. Gonna have to research this a little more. Thanks for the info.

Did you see Joe's Mustang in the latest 5.0 Mustang magazine? It's on the cover and they have a whole entire feature on Chicane's Fox Rod. Joe mentioned that his custom Fox Rod was also tuned by Powertrain Dynamics. Have you ever been to Swanson's shop before? I've been there once, but it's hard to find

No, I didn't get a chance to see Joe's mustang. My subrscription ended last november and I didn't get around to renewing till last week . Never been to Swanson's over there on Normandie. But I plan on going in to talk to Joe pretty soon.

I've heard ATI ProCharger is self-contained, therefore never touching your oil pan. When you do an oil change on your car, does the ProCharger's oil have to be changed seperately? If so, is it easy to do?

i recommend staying away from the Procharger P1-sc. they have a tendency to leak oil. the oil in the blower does need changed, altho i'm i don't know how often. and the self-contained thing isn't anything special. i wouldn't let that be a deciding factor in choosing a blower.

Accufab stuff tends to be of some of the highest quality....and they sell both matching throttle bodies and elbows. Trick flow and C&L also sell elbows, as well as a couple of other companies that aren't coming to mind right off the top of my head. Ones pretty much as good as another.

Don't overfill the blower and it won't leak. One of the advantages to the blower being self contained is that the blower only see's the oil which is situated within the blower itself. Meaning no worries about contaminants of whatever else that is in your engine floating around in the system, like when using blowers that require a fresh feed line from the oil pan. A little easier install with the self contained unit as well, since it doesn't require tapping the pan, but doing so isn't that difficult anyway. Otherwise, having a self contained oiling system isn't anything new. All positive displacement blowers are self contained and tend to be the most reliable of the bunch.
