Any downsides to smaller overall tire height from stock?

I want to run at least 255's in the front and 295's in the rear, and if I want to do that on a set of 20's, it means losing about an inch to inch and a half of overall tire height. Is that a bad thing or does it make the car look funny? How hard is it to calibrate the speedo?

You've got chrome and powdercoat choices. They are much easier to maintain. Polished aluminum turns white every few weeks. To get the shine back takes a little effort. Chrome and powdercoat shine up easy.
