Any experience out there with aftermarket sunroofs?

Hi all:

I'm finalizing my GT factory order at the end of this week, but I have yet to decide on a GT with an aftermarket sunroof (and loaded to the gills with options) or a more spartanly configured GT convertible.

I have no garage, nor will have one for many years- plus I live in PA (rainy and cold most of the year). I love the 'vertible, but the above reasons have me shying away from it. I would be quite happy with an aftermarket sunroof- HOWEVER, I am really concerned about leakage and/or longevity of an aftermarket sunroof (I get attached to my cars and tend to keep them for close to a decade if they hold up- which fords tend to do in my experience).

Does anyone have any experience with aftermarket sunroofs? Any horror stories or things to stay away from?

I tried out an installed roush short throw, and I loved it, BTW. Will ride in a Roush stage car next week to make the final decision about the suspension upgrade (this relates to a prior post I made further down the page)....

As always, thanks for all the help- I'll be sure to be back here to comment on my aftermarkets, experience and etc. StangNet rocks.

If you do it, make sure it's done by a very reputable shop. Don't just get the cheapest price and go with that, you usually get what you pay for. I'm also sure that if it is done by somebody with experience you wouldn't have any problems. It's all going to depend on who does the work and the quality of work that they do.

I have worked at new car dealers for 28 years. If you are gonna put one in shop around and find someone that really can do a nice job. There are alot of butchers out there.
