Any Oldsmobile Gurus or GM guys?

I know this is a bit off the wall, Im so used to asking questions about my 5.0, but I just picked a '95 Aurora at auction that Im trying to flip for money. I have tried posting on three different Olds. "enthusiast" sites, but they're all graveyards compared to this place! Im just trying to unload a few questions about parts, service, etc. Anybody on here by chance a GM guy or tech or even just an Olds. fan in general that can answer a few questions?

Thanks man.

1. I knew the Aurora (1995) was gonna have some problems because it was so cheap....I have to drive it an hour to get it home...after 45 minutes the Check Engine Light comes on. But at the same time Im running real low on fuel. Sooo, does anyone know if the check engine light would kick on if i was pretty low on fuel, or is it something totally related.

2. I noticed that at stop lights the normal idle was right around 1000...but every 2 seconds the needle would jerk down below a 1000 RPM. So I dropped it in neutral and it stopped. But when I drove it was alright, it shifted smoothly unless I punched the gas, and it felt almost as if te gas pedal was kicking back at me for a second, and then would smoothly accelerate.

Any kind of input would be so greatly appreciated!

on some gm cars the check guages light would come on if you were low on fuel. I am not sure about the check engine light. idle sounds normal. go to autozone and pull your codes.

This Aurora has the 4 liter V8 (Northstar I believe.)

make sure the gas cap is on tight. my moms friend has a grand am and she elft her cap off, the check engine light came on and she had to take it to the dealer to get it cleared.
