Any sort of 351W heads available for a 5.0????

My dad used to build up mustangs in his youth, He told me he had an old 302 and put a pair of 351W heads on it, for the bigger valves, it just bolted right on. Are there any sort of 351w heads for sell, or will an old 60's pair do me good, or are the 5.0 HO motors stock heads better?

Would i get any gains from some old 40 year old heads?

Ya, another back-in-the-day story. Put it this way, things have really changed and just about every aftermarket co spits out better heads than those old cast C9 351W cyl heads.

You can get a set of Thumper heads for 600 bucks that would be money well spent on iron.

the 289's would be better if you compared them to the E7's cause of better compression ratio and they can take alittle more porting

GT40P,you can pickem up at salvage yards for 150-300 bucks,change the springs port /polish if you like or just boltem on.im old school too,but these heads are great for a buildup on a low budget.i milled mine .040 to bump the comp. a little w/ no clearance probs.theres a company in cali that sells them already improved for around 650.00, i think its central coast mustang maybe someone else here could give more info
